BRIEF: For the nine months ended 30 September 2008, Arch Coal, Inc.'s revenues increased 27% to $2.25B. Net income totaled $292M, up from $93.6M. Revenues reflect increased coal sales primarily by stronger market conditions and the reduction in the valuation allowance against deferred tax assts.
