Pamela R. Butcher served as President and COO of Pilot Chemical Corp., a global specialty chemical company, beginning in January 2010, and later served as CEO, until her retirement in January 2021. Ms. Butcher has served as a member of the Board of Directors of Pilot since 2016, and currently serves as a Special Advisor to the Chairman. Prior to joining Pilot, Ms. Butcher was with The Dow Chemical Company (now Dow, Inc.), where she held a variety of corporate and business executive leadership positions. Ms. Butcher joined the Company’s Board in July 2023. Public company directorships in the last five years: PDC Energy Inc. (from February 2022 to August 2023); and Trecora Resources (from November 2016 to June 2022); as well as private equity held Gruden Topco Holdings/Quality Distribution, Inc. (from 2016 to 2021), helping lead all three organizations through their successful acquisitions by other enterprises. She also currently serves as a director of the JM Huber Corporation, a privately held industrial products and engineering materials company.

James N. Chapman served as a non-executive advisory director of SkyWorks Capital, LLC, an aviation and aerospace management consulting services company, from 2004 to 2019. Mr. Chapman served as chairman of the Company’s Board of Directors from October 2016 until April 2020, at which time he assumed the role of lead independent director. Mr. Chapman joined the Company’s Board of Directors in October 2016. Public company directorships in the last five years: Denbury, Inc. (from September 2020 to present); California Resources Corporation (from October 2020 to present); Tower International, Inc. (from October 2010 to October 2019), AerCap Holdings NV (from 2006 to May 2018) and Tembec Inc. (from 2008 to November 2017).

John W. Eaves retired as the Company’s chief executive officer in April 2020, at which time he assumed the position of executive chairman of the Company’s Board of Directors. Mr. Eaves held the position of chief executive officer from April 2012 until his retirement in April 2020. During his tenure with the Company, Mr. Eaves has also held the positions of president and chief operating officer; senior vice president of marketing; and vice president of marketing and president of the Company’s marketing subsidiary. Mr. Eaves joined the Company in 1987 after serving in various marketing related positions at Diamond Shamrock Coal Company and Natomas Coal Company. Mr. Eaves joined the Company’s Board of Directors in February 2006. Public company directorships in the last five years: CF Industries Holdings, Inc. (from July 2017 to the present).

Holly Keller Koeppel served as managing partner and head of Gateway Infrastructure Investments LP from March 2015 to January 2017. From 2010 to February 2015, she was partner and global co-head of Citi Infrastructure Investors, a division of Citigroup, Inc. Ms. Koeppel served as executive vice president and chief financial officer of American Electric Power Corporation (“AEP”) from 2006 to 2009 and several additional executive positions at AEP from 2000 to 2006. Ms. Koeppel joined the Company’s Board of Directors in February 2019. Public company directorships in the last five years: AES Corporation (from April 2015 to the present), British American Tobacco plc (from July 2017 to the present), Flutter Entertainment plc (from May 2021 to present); Vesuvius plc (from April 2017 to May 2021), Integrys Energy Group, Inc. (from 2012 to February 2015); and Reynolds American Inc. (from 2008 to July 2017). 

Patrick A. Kriegshauser serves as executive vice president and a director of ArchKey Holdings Inc., a privately held company. Mr. Kriegshauser also serves as executive vice president of Sachs Electric Company, which is owned by ArchKey Holdings Inc. He has held executive level positions with Sachs Electric Company since 2000. From 1985 to 2000, Mr. Kriegshauser served in various executive capacities at the Company, including serving as senior vice president and chief financial officer from 1996 to 2000. He started his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. Mr. Kriegshauser joined the Company’s Board of Directors in October 2016. Public company directorships in the last five years: None.

Paul A. Lang is the Company’s president and chief executive officer, serving in such capacity since April 2020. Mr. Lang joined the Company in 1984 and – prior to assuming his current role – served as our president and chief operating officer from April 2015 through April 2020, and before that as executive vice president and chief operating officer. He previously held a variety of engineering and operating positions at both the Company’s eastern and western operations, and served on the Company’s board of directors from 2014 through 2016. Mr. Lang is a member of the executive committee of the National Mining Association. Public company directorships in the last five years: Advanced Emissions Solutions, Inc. (from August 2013 through June 2017).

Richard A. Navarre served as president and chief executive officer of Covia Holdings LLC, a privately held company from May 2019 to May 2021 (f/k/a Covia Corporation). He served as president and chief commercial officer of Peabody Energy Corporation from 2008 until his retirement in 2012 and as Peabody’s chief financial officer and executive vice president of corporate development from 1999 to 2008. Prior to joining Peabody in 1993, Mr. Navarre was a senior manager with KPMG, LLP. Mr. Navarre joined the Company’s Board of Directors in October 2016.
